Community Reminders – Safety on the roads

    Ref No: EJA/SBV/CM/035/15
    Date: 18th January 2015

    Dear Residents,

In the interest of safety, security and the general well-being of our community, we wish to bring the following to your attention.

Under- Age Driving: We are advising all the parents/guardians to control and prohibit their minors from driving with or without their supervision. Aside from the fact that it is against the UAE law, it puts the live and safety of the driver, passengers and community users at serious risk.

Speeding: While driving inside your community, keep an eye out for pedestrians and especially children. Teach your little ones to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN before crossing the street. Be responsible and obey the maximum speed limit posted on signs along our roads and highways, but always drive at a speed that will let you stop safely. As a general rule, drive at the same speed as traffic around you without going over the speed limit. The limit for main streets is 40 kph and for minor roads is
    25 kph
If you witness instances of speeding and reckless driving, we kindly request you to report the vehicle details to Abu Dhabi Dubai Police and you may also contact Community Security on _____________.

Should you require any further clarifications, please contact us.

We look forward to your continued cooperation and support to ensure the overall wellbeing of the community.

    Sincerely,
Saadiyat Beach Villas Community Management Office

Re: Owners Property and Content Insurance
    Dear Valued Residents,
In the light of several residential property fires across the country, we strongly recommend property owners and tenants to have an adequate property and contents insurance policy to avoid suffering financial loss arising from damage to personal possessions and property such as fire, theft, accidental damage and weather damage.
While all efforts by the Management are taken to ensure safety and security within the community as well as placing a strong insurance policy, however, this insurance policy covers the common areas of the property only where units are excluded. Accordingly incase of any accidents taking place in your property then you could be liable for the damages incurred. It is important you feel assured that you have an insurance policy that protect and cover your liability in the case of these unforeseen events.
Should you require any further clarification, please email us on SBVcommunity@tdic.ae
    Sincerely,
    Saadiyat Community Management Office

Subject: Car washing tips to Conserve Water

    Posted on: 18-12-2016

    July 20, 2016
    Ref No: EJA/SBV/CM/060/16

Subject: Car washing tips to Conserve Water
    Dear Valued Residents,
There are many steps you can take to use less water and to be even more environmentally conscious when you wash your car. If you go about it the right way, you can wash your own car using less than four buckets of water. In this regard, below are the tips you may consider:

Tips on how to wash your car using less water:

    1. Park your car under the shade. This prevents excess water evaporating off and the exterior from becoming hot. Ideally the spot should be close to a water source so you don't have to carry water very far and if you are parked on the lawn, even better as the water runoff will water the lawn.

    2. Fill your first bucket with water. Using the small container, (such as an ice cream container - see "things you'll need"), fill that container from the bucket and soak your sponge. Don't add any detergent at this stage.
    • Wet and lightly wipe the surface of the car from the top down with the soap free sponge. What you are doing is removing the easily removed dust, but any stuck on dirt such as bird or insect droppings are being soaked for easier removal at the next stage. Rub each stubborn spot gently with the sponge as you see them.

    3. Fill the remains of bucket one into a water can and rinse the car off. This would have used your first bucket load of water and your car is half clean.

    4. Fill your second bucket and using your ice cream container again, add a small amount of detergent in the smaller container. Preferably a bio-degradable, or environmentally friendly type as it won't harm the lawn.
    • The big catch is most people actually use too much soap washing their car, so more water is needed to wash the soap off. You just need to add enough so the water feels soapy which is 1 or 2 teaspoons worth.

    5. Use the soapy water and sponge to wipe down the car again from the top down with the detergent. The aim is not actually to scrub the car at this stage, but you are giving it a coating with detergent that will break down the more stubborn spots. Fill your ice cream container again from your second bucket of water and start washing the car as normal. You wouldn't need to add more detergent.

    6. Continue using the remainder of bucket two and now you can apply a little more attention to your cleaning and do the entire car top to bottom. If you are being more careful, you can use only half of bucket two on the detergent stage.

    7. Rinse sponge in the remains of bucket two and put the sponge aside. Pour this grey water (and/or the additional half bucket) into a watering can and rinsing the car off lightly.
    • This has now used 2 or 2.5 buckets depending on you careful you were. The car is now virtually finished as most the detergent and grime has rinsed off.

    8. Using the clean sponge quickly inspect the car and wipe down any remaining spots and any soapy trails. This makes the final rinse the most effective as these last wipe-downs will wash away all the final soap residue that the final rinse may miss.

    9. Fill the final bucket load into the watering can and finish the rinse from the top down. If you wish to rinse the sponge, use it in the first ice cream container worth of bucket 3 rinse water and rinse the car wheel-hubs with this.
    10. Wipe the car down and wax polish if desired. Your car is now cleaned using only 3 or 3.5 buckets.
Every Drop Counts! Please Save Water….

    Sincerely,
    Saadiyat Community Management Office
